Google will unveil the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch in a month.
As you probably already know, this evening Apple will finally present it’s iPhone 14. And it is more than likely that the firm will lift the veil on other products, including the new generation of Apple Watch.
This is a moment eagerly awaited by fans of the apple brand for several months. On the other hand, if you are more of a fan of Google or of the Android ecosystem, it is the presentation of the next flagships of the Mountain View firm that you are waiting for.
And today, we know when these will be presented. Indeed, on Tuesday, Google began sending out invitations for its next event, which is scheduled for October 6. As the 9to5Google site reminds us, for the past two years, Google has been forced to organize virtual events because of the health situation. On the other hand, the October 6 event would be a physical event, but it will also be broadcast online.
New Pixel smartphones, and the brand’s first connected watch
Unlike Apple, Google did not wait for the event to discuss the products it will present. The visuals used by the firm suggest that it will unveil the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel Watch, as well as new wireless headphones.
And by the way, during the Google I/O event in May, Google already previewed the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch. On the other hand, Google has yet to present the characteristics and reveal the prices of these products.
As for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, it will be the second generation of Pixel smartphones using a Google-designed chip instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. And besides, by the way, the company has confirmed that these two smartphones will indeed use the Google Tensor 2 chip.
As a reminder, the Tensor chip (1) was presented by the Mountain View company in 2021. And it equips the Pixel 6, the Pixel 6 Pro as well as the Pixel 6a. This chip was designed by Google engineers to better meet the needs of its software in terms of artificial intelligence, which makes it possible to offer new functionalities. For Tensor 2, improvements in this area are expected.
Otherwise, regarding the Pixel Watch, it is the first connected watch of the Pixel Watch. Preparing for the firm’s entry into the watch market took years. Before launching the Pixel Watch, Google acquired part of Fossil’s R&D, as well as the manufacturer of connected watches and fitness bracelets Fitbit. And on the software side, it has teamed up with Samsung to merge Wear OS and Tizen, with the aim of combining the advantages of these two operating systems.
Note that Google could still surprise us with other products. Indeed, rumors suggest that the firm is still developing a folding smartphone. And other sources suggest that in addition to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, another device could be in the works.
