Asus announces its two new gaming smartphones ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate with Mediatek’s Dimensity 9000 Plus.
Asus released its new gaming smartphones ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate this week Asus introduced. The only difference between the two models lies in the memory equipment and the cooling system. While the ROG Phone 6D comes with up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal storage, buyers of the Ultimate can also choose a version with 512 gigabytes of internal storage. The AeroActive portal on the back of the Ultimate should ensure good cooling performance when gaming. It can be lifted via a hinge and thus opens an air path into the case, which is supposed to dissipate heat quickly.
The other specifications of the smartphones are identical. Both the ROG Phone 6D and the 6D Ultra offer an AMOLED screen with a 6.78-inch diagonal, a resolution of 2,448 x 1,080 pixels, HDR10+, and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. Mediatek’s Dimensity 900 Plus works in the housing. The battery is generously sized at 6,000 mAh and can be charged quickly with 65 watts.
Triple camera and headphone jack
Asus has installed a triple camera on the back of both smartphones. This consists of the main sensor with 50 megapixels, an ultra wide-angle lens with 13 megapixels, and a macro camera with 5 megapixels. The front camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels. Other features include a classic headphone jack, stereo speakers, 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a fingerprint sensor built into the display.
Only announced for the UK so far
Android 12 with ROG UI and Zen UI is used as the mobile operating system. Both smartphones have so far only been announced for Great Britain. There, the ROG Phone 6D costs the equivalent of 910 euros, and the Ultra version 1,366 euros.
