Good news for Samsung phone owners. The South Korean manufacturer will give its Galaxy S23s a taste of the new “Galaxy” AI features in the coming weeks.

The S23s will soon receive the Galaxy AI update

If you have a Galaxy S23, but are jealous of the smart features of Samsung’s new flagship, don’t panic. Many artificial intelligence features, once exclusive to the Galaxy S24, will arrive on older generation Samsung mobiles. According to rumors, the heads of the 2023 gondolas could even benefit from these new features as early as next month.

One UI 6.1 coming next March

According to a rumor spotted by the Android Authority site, One UI 6.1 should arrive on the Galaxy S23 in March. More precisely, the deployment should begin in the second or third week of the month, if various rumors are to be believed. This update will include, among other things, numerous features offered by “Galaxy AI”, the artificial intelligence Made in Samsung that the manufacturer praised at length during the presentation conference of its S24.

In fact, the S23s will not be the only mobiles to gain features with the deployment of One UI 6.1. The Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold 5 should also receive the update, as should the S22. The latter, however, will not benefit from Galaxy AI. No official release window has been communicated by Samsung for the rollout and it is possible that each phone will gain different features.

Variable geometry features

The company has not specified exactly all the AI tools that the different mobiles will be able to use, but we already know that certain improvements on the camera side (notably the colorization of black and white images as well as the improvement of the “long exposure” mode) will be there, as will the famous “surround to search” tool that Google and Samsung have developed hand in hand. For the rest, we will have to wait a little to see if Samsung has been generous or not.

Other unrelated Galaxy AI features should also arrive with One UI 6.1, including improved navigation animations, better customization of the lock screen (with widgets), and numerous fixes and other optimizations. Owners of S23 or Samsung folding mobiles therefore don’t have too long to wait before being able to taste the future AI version.
