AMD’s processors are sometimes a third cheaper than in the summer. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D for gaming PCs is particularly interesting.

Almost all AMD processors of the Ryzen 4000 and 5000 series have fallen significantly in price in the past few weeks and months. Especially considering the expensive AM5 platform with the Ryzen 7000 CPUs, one or the other bargain can be made.
This applies above all to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D (from €364), which does not have to hide from the newer CPU generation. Thanks to its huge level 3 cache, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D keeps up in games with processors like the Ryzen 7 7700X and Core i5-13600K but requires significantly less electrical energy.
In addition, the CPU runs on inexpensive B550 mainboards, which are available with good equipment for 130 euros, such as Gigabyte’s B550 Aorus Elite V2 (from 129 €). Anyone who already has DDR4 memory sticks saves additional money since only the AM5 platform makes the switch to DDR5 RAM. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D only has to do without PCI Express 5.0. Corresponding graphics cards and SSDs are not yet available anyway, and their practical use should also be limited. Another downside: CPU upgrades will no longer be possible in the next few years – the AM4 platform has reached the end of its life. For more application performance, there is the Ryzen 9 5900X (from €375).
Six-core for less than 100 euros
If you want to spend less money, you can get a cheap eight-core processor with the Ryzen 7 5700X (from €239). The entry-level class has the largest percentage price reductions: The price of the Zen 2 six-core Ryzen 5 4500 (from €76.90) has almost halved since the beginning of summer. The Zen 3 six-core Ryzen 5 5500 (from €98.36) is a bit more expensive but has twice the size of the Level 3 cache and a merged core cluster, which is particularly beneficial in games.
For office PCs, the Ryzen 5 4600G (from €109) is now available at a reasonable price. Unlike the Ryzen 5 4500, the integrated Radeon GPU is active in the G model, so no separate graphics card is required for operation. The successor Ryzen 5 5600G (from €135) is €30 more expensive.
